Youth Commission Preschool and Recreation Programs

The Stickney Township Youth Commission offers preschool and recreation programs for children of various ages at two locations:

KIDDIE PLAY TYME PRESCHOOL (North Building)

This program promotes kindergarten readiness and is comprised of four 8-week sessions designed to provide children with an opportunity to explore, play and create while enjoying a variety of activities in a safe environment. Weekly themes centered on letters, numbers, shapes and color recognition involve the use of toys, games, puzzles and art materials to explore different ways for children to play and use their imaginations. This program also encourages creative expression through crafts, music and dramatic play as well as promotes the development and enhancement of age-appropriate social skills.

2 ½-3 year-olds meet on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 9 to 11 am OR 12:30 to 2:30 pm The fee for each 8-week session is $25.

4-5 year-olds meet on Mondays/Wednesdays/9 to 11 am OR 12:30 to 2:30 pm The fee for each 8-week session is $30.

Kiddie Play Tyme Preschool is held September through May annually.


PRE K3 & PRE K4 (Louis S. Viverito Senior Center)

Both the 3-year and 4-year preschool programs are designed to meet the needs of children in their age group. The alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes and various concepts of learning will be part of the curriculum. Listening, following directions, and social skills are stressed in both programs.

PRE K 3 is for those children who are 3 years of age by September 1, 2015. The program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The fee is $40 for each 8-week session for a total of 4 sessions. 
 


PRE K 4 is for those children who are 4 years of age by September 1, 2015. The program meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The fee is $60 for each 8-week session for a total of 4 sessions.

Both programs begin in mid September and end in May each year.

Two classes are scheduled for both programs; 9 to 11 am and 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Class sizes are limited for the preschool programs at both locations so be sure to register early. Children must be toilet trained. Only the parent or legal guardian may register participants. (Legal guardian must provide court papers). Three proofs of residency are required including a current Illinois Driver's License or Illinois State ID card. In addition, two of the following must be provided at the time of registration: Current utility bills, property tax bill (or lease), auto registration, or auto insurance card. Child's certified birth certificate and immunization record are also required at time of registration. Full payment is due at time of registration (cash or check only is accepted). Those families who present a valid HFS issued medical card showing the parent (not just the child) as the insured will pay half the price for the Township’s preschool programs.
